GAYLORD — Medilodge of Gaylord will have its first American Lung Association Better Breathers Club meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, in the pulmonary unit conference room of Medilodge, 508 Random Lane.
The club is a support group for individuals who suffer with chronic lung disease including COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer. Club members will learn how to better cope with their disease while receiving training and the tools they need for a better quality of life.
The Better Breathers Club will meet monthly at 3 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. Speakers will inform and lead discussions on many different topics relevant to members’ pulmonary condition. Subjects such as the affects of COPD on the lungs, breathing techniques, exercise, medical tests and others will be covered throughout the year.
Medilodge of Gaylord is a licensed skilled nursing facility that specializes in short term care, post-operative care and long-term care. Medilodge of Gaylord also specializes in respiratory care with respiratory therapists on-site continuously and has a 17-bed pulmonary-ventilator unit on-site.
